I, Daniel Blake

Daniel Blake is a 59-year-old carpenter forced onto welfare benefits after a health scare. He becomes an accidental hero when he finds himself caught in the barbed wire of welfare bureaucracy as played out against the rhetoric of ‘striver and skiver’ in modern-day Britain.

Watch Trailer

“I, Daniel Blake is passionate filmmaking to its very core, as well as the rare art house effort that could stand a chance with mainstream audiences.”

Alistair Ryder - Film Inquiry

“Told bluntly but with the utmost in dignity and empathy, this is a film that has the power to change minds and shift preconceived perceptions.”

Alex Casey - New Zealand Herald
